FAQ

What is UNL?

UNL stands for Universally Named Locations, and we are designing a network & infrastructure that is built around location cells.

Why cells?

Cells have cells in them, neighbouring cells beside them, and parent cells containing them. They can be clustered, connected to for data transfer, or used as an execution environment for location-aware scripting. Cells have a myriad of benefits over traditional `lon, lat` coordinates, and are also translatable back & forth into coordinates. We have built on these foundations to revolutionise our location infrastructure.

How can I use UNL in my application?

UNL can be embedded directly, using the core libraries via `NodeJS`, this provides the tools to interpret & transform locations, and to leverage the benefits of cell-based locations.
